E*Trade Baby Quits

After six years the E*Trade baby is finally moving on with his
life.
Last week the online brokerage began airing what is said to be the last
ad featuring the longtime spokeschild. The spot shows the baby being
subjected to a new sidekick. In true 2014 Internet style, it's a zany cat. I’m
a little sorry to see the kid go.
Double Entendre Marketing for “Inside Amy Schumer”

“That Really Hit
the Spot,” says Amy Schumer about “Finger Blasters.” I’ll let you figure out
where the “spot” is.
Comedy Central and
the folks at Inside Amy Schumer announced they’re offering a treat to
youths celebrating Spring Break in Daytona Beach, FL. It appears spring
breakers can enjoy some chicken fingers with sauce contained in “special
vessels.” (Note the shape of the opening on the sauce containers.) All of this
is to remind people that the second season of Inside Amy
Schumer premieres April 1 on Comedy Central.
Vintage
Ads

I don’t know what
company “Gulf” morphed into, but I remember this ad … probably because of the
Corvette.

Speaking of
Corvettes, this vintage ad suggests that you “… imagine what owning a Corvette
would be like … you’re close, but it’s better than that!” I can attest that
it’s still true today.

Never heard of
Tangee … maybe because the product’s ads were so sexist?

Speaking of
“sexist” … above is one of the all time winners of sexist ads.

“You need lime juice
in the home this Christmas.” Apparently
in the 50’s mom needed to get tipsy to face the holidays.

More proof that in
the 50’s women needed alcohol to cope. Buckfast Tonic Wine.

Penn and
Teller Explain Why You Should Get Your Kids Vaccinated

Here’s a highly NSFW PSA
featuring Penn and Teller promoting the benefits of vaccinations for children.
Effective … but not really practical because of language.
Summer’s Eve
for Her V

Here’s a humorous commercial

It’s Funny Even if You Don’t Know What They’re Saying

I wish I could
translate the copy for this
insurance commercial for Centraal Beheer Insurance, Germany. But the visual
and the circumstances make it funny non-the-less.
Change Your
Life With Bacon

This ad is for Maple Leaf Foods
and it shows one Mother's story of how bacon has changed her life with bacon.
It's time to tell the world about its incredible power.
You Can’t Hide Fat

These ads for a
fitness club demonstrate that “Fat Can’t Hide.”

Poor Penis …
Aids Commercial

I featured this unusual and funny ad
(NSFW) about two years ago, but for some reason it’s making the rounds again,
so here it is again.
