Apple Abandons its Own Trade Show
Apple announced that
this upcoming Macworld Expo is Apple's last one.

This is just another example of how trade shows and other traditional marketing approaches are becoming less and less relevant in the highly-connected (and more economically-distressed) world.  The fact that Apple is bowing out of a trade show that is focused entirely on Apple is a strong indicator that the trade show business itself may be in for a serious implosion and that companies are looking for different ways to spend their marketing dollars.

Lingerie Academies for Men?
The festive season sees many a sheepish man loitering guiltily in underwear departments before panic-buying something red and lacy. Many of these purchases are returned by wives and girlfriends - a phenomenon known as the "boomerang bra" effect.

To stop this from happening John Lewis stores held a series of men-only "lingerie academies." Nervous men could enjoy a chilled beer while getting expert advice.  Click here to see Maria Walker, a lingerie adviser for 10 years, give Anthony Noble the benefit of her expert help.

Humorous Holiday-Related Videos
I know these are late, but many readers sent me links to funny holiday-related videos. Here are two that I received the most of ... which to me means a lot of people, including me, think they're funny.

This one, from JC Penny, was new this year and very popular on the internet. The first person to send it to me was my buddy Glen Ponzak ... from his home computer ... just so his boss knows.

The second, Wrong Gift Again, is very short and very funny and along the same theme as the Dog House, above. It's a couple of years old, but still good. I think Tim Kaker, from Sheboygan was the first to send this to me a long time ago ... from his office, not from home ... just so his boss knows.
