Jeff Dunham to Perform at Oshkosh EAA AirVenture 2008

Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham, an aircraft builder and pilot, will make an appearance at this year's EAA AirVenture 2008!

Dunham will be performing at EAA's Theater in the Woods on Wednesday evening, July 30, presented by Rotorway International. Dunham has built Rotorway helicopters and is a helicopter pilot. If you look closely at the photo below you can see Jeff, Walter and Peanut (hanging on) in one of Jeff's copters.

Admission to Jeff Dunham's performance at Theater in the Woods is included with regular AirVenture admission.

We'll be hooking up with Jeff next week in Cincinnati, OH ... well, actually Ft. Mitchell, KY, a suburb of Cincinnati.  If "Guitar Guy" Brian Haner is with him, I'll try to get some photos and an interview for the blog. Brian is Jeff's opening act now, and he plays the guitar on Jingle Bombs, which has over 10 million hits on YouTube.

Does This Make You Want to Drink More Milk?

Who would have thought that you could use a deck of cards in an ad, and make the cards stars of an adult video ... no people ... just cards. This commercial for the BC Dairy, depicts the Queen of Hearts cheating with the Jack of Spades.   He wants her "heart" and she wants his "spade" ... I'm quoting from the ad. Check it out ... it's pretty funny.

I won't spoil the "plot" but the loser in the ensuing battle claims he loses because he didn't drink enough milk!  These are playing cards, mind you. Apparently cards that have sex and drink milk, but still, they're just cards. (Okay, I'll admit that I played the commercial more than once because it made me laugh. But it sure didn't make me want to drink more milk.)

Feel Good Dance

Matt Harding, the guy who quit his job in Australia and, after hooking up with Stride gum, traveled the globe to film himself dancing in 39 countries (courtesy of Stride), has recently completed a second journey. This time, Matt visited 42 countries over a 14 month period and, in addition to filming himself dance, filmed the people of each country dancing along with him.

The result is an amazingly feel-good video that, in a small way, brings the people of the world closer together. I dare you to watch it without feeling at least the tiniest bit of hope that, someday, every human being on this planet can live in peace together.  Click here to see the video.

Kudos to Stride.

Tired of Passwords? An Alternative May be on the Horizon
Microsoft, Google and PayPal, a unit of eBay, are among the founders of an industry organization that hopes to solve the problem of password overload among computer users. The Information Card Foundation is an effort to create a single industry wide approach to managing identity online that promises to reduce drastically the use of passwords and create a system that is less vulnerable to fraud.

The idea is to bring the concept of an identity card, like a driver's license, to the online world. Rather than logging onto sites with user IDs and passwords, people will gain access to sites using a secure digital identity that is overseen by a third party. The user controls the information in a secure place and transmits only the data that is necessary to access a Web site.

In addition to simplifying online shopping, such information cards will reduce the number of phishing incidents, that is, the fraudulent use of someone's identity to gain access to financial records.

One of the biggest tasks facing the group is getting the millions of Web sites to support the new system, a process analysts estimate will take a few years.  Whatever it takes, I'm for it. I'm tired of sneaking through Dale's desk to find his list of passwords.
